Violet Y. Beasley, age 97, of Valparaiso, Florida passed away on October 22, 2021. Violet was born on August 23, 1924 to William & Ora Yokeley in High Point, North Carolina. Violet loved to garden and cook. She was a member of the Garden Club. She was an avid tennis player and was a skilled still-life and portrait painter. As an Air Force wife, she and her family traveled from Miami to Newfoundland, Colorado, New York, and Germany. When her husband, Andy, retired, they settled in Florida. For many years, she worked for Oklahoma State University on Eglin Air Force Base.
Violet is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ernest Anderson Beasley Jr.; her son, Ernest Beasley III; her brothers, Winfred, Athel, Herman, and Paul; and her sisters, Lois, Gladys, and Virginia.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea L. White; daughter-in-law, Glenda Beasley; grandchildren, Andrea B. White, Brooks White, and Grayton Beasley; great-granddaughter, Adair Bunnell (Jon); and great-great-grandchildren, Ava Bunnell and Laine Bunnell.
A graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, in Pensacola, on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 11:00 am, where Violet will be interred with her husband.
