Rose Marie Deem

Rose Marie Deem (Hodny) of Valparaiso, FL passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Ft. Walton Beach Hospital, FL at the age of 74.

Rose was born on May 16, 1948, to Frank C. and Rose A. (Kachena) Hodny at Grafton, ND.  She graduated from Pisek High School and Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks.  She married Chester P. Deem on July 26, 1969, at Pisek, ND.  Rose was a civil service employee for the U.S. Department of Defense from 1971-2007.

Rose is survived by her sisters, Agnes Wischer, Grand Forks, ND, Leona Kotaska (Cy), Sawyer, ND, and her brothers, Lewis Hodny (Betty) of Gillette, WY, and Joseph Hodny (Lynn) of Aberdeen, SD; and by an aunt, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and her parents.  Rose loved her precious poodles, to garden, she walks at Turkey Creek, and the many friends and co-workers she met throughout the years.

Funeral services will be held at Bob Hope Village Chapel of Shalimar, FL on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 10:00 am with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 am.  Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL at 2:00 pm Tuesday 6/14/2022.  Arrangements by McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home of Niceville, FL.
