Tribute

Paula Irene Jennings died peacefully August 15th, 2020 at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida.

She was a resident of Blue Water Bay for over 35 years, proud affiliate of the Elks Club #2747, and devoted member of the St Paul Lutheran Church. She will be very missed.

Loving, compassioned, generous, honest, funny, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and the best mother in law. Those are the adjectives that will always bring back memories of her, as well as the annual celebrations of Christmas, Thanksgiving, the 4th of July, birthday parties that she waited happily with excitement because she was getting her family together and where she would use some of her special food recipes to surprise us with the most delicious meals and settings that she would prepare with so much love and care, always thinking about all of us. She was also an avid flower and gardening lover. Paula and her husband Jim loved to travel and take pictures. She made very nice albums and wrote interesting passages of their trips to share with family and friends.

She was born Paula Irene Culbert in Fremont, Ohio, on March 2nd, 1930, to Chester and Irene Culbert. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School, Fremont Ohio, in 1948.  In 1951, Paula married her husband, Jim.

In 1953, she graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She enjoyed many years as an educator.  In 1955, she began her life as the spouse of a 30-year USAF officer, and lived in many places throughout the United States and the world.  In 1985, she and her husband retired to Niceville, Florida.

Paula is predeceased by her husband James M. Jennings, her parents Chester and Irene Culbert, her sister Dorothy Dick, and her brother Robert Culbert.  She is survived by her beloved children James and Debra, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She now lives in the eternal life with the Lord, reunited with her husband of more than 68 years, who preceded her in death on July 11th, 2019.  Paula will be missed but not forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to a church service celebrating her life.  The service will take place at St Paul Lutheran Church, ‪1407 John Sims Pkwy E. Niceville, FL 32578, ‪on Thursday, August 27th, at 2:00 pm.
