Harry Poore

Harry Ernest Poore, age 66, of Niceville Florida, passed away on October 10, 2021, of Covid complications. He was born on November 20, 1954, to Edward L. Poore and Hulda V. Deshirlia Poore Jernigan of Greenville, Illinois.

Harry had a deep and abiding love of learning, music, and reading. He was a Pro Archer of Team Hoyt in California. He truly loved people. He expressed his artistry in landscaping. He loved playing with his grandchildren. He shared his wisdom with us all and encouraged all of us. He supported all of our hopes and dreams. He found God’s love in nature. He studied to find the truth of God. He had a real gift for outdoor cooking.

Harry had such a depth of character that few people got to see but he was a guiding light to those of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by Martha Lardo, by his first wife, Anita Boyer Poore. His daughter and son-in-law Michelle Renee Poore Green and Michael Charles Clifton Green. Their sons, Michael Donald Green, Maxwell Bradford Green, and Memphis Clifton Green. He is survived by Holly Y. and Christopher A. Strickland and their son Nicholas Gabriel Strickland as well as Mario Michael Finnestad and Brandi Sikes. He is also survived by his sister Paula Earline Parker and James Lafayette Parker of Tennessee. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of people whose lives he touched.

A Funeral Mass will be held on October 22 at 10 am at The Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church of Niceville, Florida. Instead of flowers, Harry would have said to us that the world is full of problems, problems we can solve. I know he would ask that donations be made to your charity of need that you see. He truly loved people and would have helped so many more if he had the resources.
