Hai T. Held was born on June 10th 1939 in Saigon, Vietnam and passed away on November 15th 2020 in Niceville, Florida. Hai is survived by her husband, Randall L. Held, who she met in South Vietnam in the summer of 1969. They were married in Saigon on January 7, 1972, after completing an exhaustive approval process with the U.S. military and Vietnamese government. She took on the role of a supportive and proud military spouse immediately and without complaint. Randall’s family in Kansas welcomed her with open arms and loved her so very much from the very start. Hai is also survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. Held, which they adopted from South Korea in March of 1980.  She was a wonderful mother and the day they received Kimberly was one of Hai’s proudest and happiest moments.  She was also an extremely proud Naturalized U.S. Citizen who studied hard to prepare for the examination. She loved to cook and was known for her famous egg rolls and fried rice.  She also loved to crochet and was known for her intricate and exquisite tablecloths.  She was an animal lover and any animal was lucky to be under her care, and would definitely gain a couple of pounds. She loved her Kansas City Chiefs and was able to see them win the Super Bowl this year.  Her smile and her laughter could light up a room, she will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to one of mom’s favorite animal shelters: https://alaqua.org or https://www.paws-shelter.org/
