SMSgt Daniel J. “Joe” Roach

1946-2019

Joe Roach, age 73, of Crestview FL passed away on December 10th, 2019. He was born to Robert and Augusta Roach on October 15, 1946 in Frankfort KY. He is survived by his children: Jennifer (Jason) Bippus and Kristen Gregory; step-children Tiffany (Robert) Phillips and Brandi (Shawn) Croft; grandchildren Julia Bippus, Carleigh Croft, Lucy and Brock Phillips; and his wife, Marilyn.  He was predeceased by his son, H Edward Roach.

He served his country in the United States Air Force for 26 years and was very proud of that accomplishment. He was a machinist, metals technology shop supervisor, fabrication flight superintendent, training flight superintendent and academic flight superintendent. He was honorably retired from active duty in September 1991 in the grade of Senior Master Sergeant. After leaving the military he worked for Crestview Aerospace, L3, and civil service at Eglin AFB. He retired from civil service in 2016.

He was a member of The Kokusai Masonic Lodge No. 15, and he held a FCC General Class Amateur (HAM) radio license for 40+ years.

Joe will be remembered for his generosity, kind heart, and his unique sense of humor. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 4:00-6:00 PM at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home and Crematory, in Niceville, FL. Graveside service will be held at Barrancas Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM.
