Cathryn A. Beck

Cathryn (Cathy) Aileen Beck, age 77 of Niceville, FL went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2018 after a long, brave battle with cancer.  She was born in Birmingham, AL on Nov. 24, 1940 to Grady and Mildred Street of Warner Robins, GA.  She married her high school sweetheart, Louis R. Beck on Nov. 23, 1959 in Warner Robins, GA. Cathy is survived by her loving, dedicated husband of almost 60 years, Major Louis R. Beck (Retired US Air Force); son, Lt. Colonel Doug Beck (Retired US Air Force); daughter, Sissy Beck Mosley; grandchildren, Brandon and Brett Mosley, Gabrielle, Brenton and Alex Beck; daughter-in-law, Dr. Rachel Hoffman Beck; son-in-law, Devin Mosley; sister, Gwen Burson; brother, Alan Street; brother-in-law, Ken Holley; nephews, Michael Fallin, Steven Burson, and Aaron Street; and nieces, Karen Fallin Rose, and Leanne Harvell.

Her greatest loves were her grandchildren, who she adored and gave her love, time, heart and soul to.  She was the most loving mother anyone could have.  She had the greatest gift of giving herself and helping anyone in need.  She was extremely generous in every way, and everyone was drawn to her loving, selfless nature.  She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of meeting her.

Cathy had a strong faith in God and a great love for babies and children.  She volunteered in the church nursey for years and was a Bible School teacher.  She studied Early Childhood Education at Okaloosa Walton Community College.  She worked in early childhood for over 30 years and loved the children she cared for dearly. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Mildred Street; sister, Sarah Nan Holley; nephew Kenneth Burson; brother in law, Robert Burson; mother in law, Hazel Stinson; and father in law, Mack Beck.

Cathryn was interred at Barrancas National Cemetery in a private ceremony on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Cathy’s name may be made to Pet Welfare, 683 Range Road, Eglin AFB, FL 32542; 850-678-5066; petwalfare@embarqmail.com
