Ann R. Porter

Ann R. Porter, age 84, of Niceville, FL, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her residence.  She was born January 10, 1934 in Opp, AL to the late Wilson Robertson and Lois Johnson Robertson.

Ann was a retired school teacher and enjoyed gardening and cooking.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Porter; her daughter, Vivian Ann Sorrells; a grandson, Ethan John Porter; a great granddaughter, Sophie Elaine Nielsen; and her brother, Billy Robertson.

Survivors include her sons, Eugene Vance “Gene” Porter and James Donald “Jimmy” Porter; her grandchildren, Travis James Wieland, Frank Alexander Sorrells , II, Haley Cherise Porter, Heather Nicole Porter and Trey Allen Porter; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces , nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Crosspoint United Methodist Church, 214 Partin Drive S, Niceville, FL 32578.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at www.mclaughlintwincities.com
