Tribute

William "Bill" Theodore Stagaman, a long-time resident of Valparaiso, FL passed away in HCA West FL Hospital, Covenant Hospice Unit on Friday February 16, 2024, due to complications from recently diagnosed health conditions.

Bill was born December 07, 1948, in New Berlin Hospital NY to William F. and Mabel C. (nee Mueller) Stagaman and reared in South Hamilton, Earlville, NY, logging and farming with the family. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force with tour assignments taking him to Alaska and finally Eglin AFB. He loved the area so much he decided to put down roots.

Bill was a former Assistant Fire Chief with what was then the Volunteer Niceville Fire Dept. and was the first one trained when they received the jaws of life, and he owned his own business Professional Diesel Quality in Niceville. He was a top-notch mechanic who earned many accolades and awards over the more than 50 years he spent in the heavy equipment and rental businesses, most recently as a Service Manager. He was renown in his chosen field. Bill loved to cook out and would fry, grill, boil and smoke anything that would fit in his smokers. He was a master at that too, as anyone who attended his backyard afternoon and evening soirees can attest. He was also a proud life member of Am Vets Post 78 in Valparaiso.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Parjani Stagaman, of Valparaiso; son, William Joseph 'BJ' Stagaman and daughter Tonya Marie Stagaman, both of Milton, FL; sister Charlotte (Carl) Sherwood of Earlville, NY and nieces Carla Bradley and Heather Nelson, and extended family, most in the upstate NY area, as well as stepson Michael (Karen) Shoemake and step- grandchildren Tyler and Hannah, of Bardstown, St. Francis, KY.

There are no funeral services being held; Per Bill's wishes, he will be cremated and scattered privately. A celebration of life may be held at a later date.
