Dane Paul Shepherd age 48 of Niceville passed away at his home on January 3, 2018. He was born on August 15, 1969 in Concord, Massachusetts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Shepherd of Brooklyn, New York and Judy Reed Shepherd of Greenwich, Connecticut.

Dane is survived by his brother, Kevin Shepherd of Niceville and daughter, Hannah Shepherd of London, England. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Selene Hunter, close friends Dave Morrow, Matt Ausley and a multitude of friends and business associates.

Dane attended high school in Israel and had a successful career in computer technology with Lucent Technologies where he enjoyed traveling around the world to Tokyo, China and various other places. He moved to the Niceville area in 2002 where he started his own company S.O.S. Shepherd’s Office Services. Through his work he made many friends and business connections as he helped by simplifying the world of technology with his lighthearted style of transforming complex computer processes into user friendly language, magically solving their problems.

Dane was active in the Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce since 2004. He was recognized as the Small Business of the Year by the Chamber in 2006 and received various additional awards over the years.

Dane enjoyed tinkering with everything electronic, watching movies, engaging in video games, kayaking, biking, cooking, flying his drone and spending time with Selene and also his beloved dogs, Ellie and Chip.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 13, 2017 at 2 PM at Crosspoint Niceville Community Life Center Theatre there will e a time of fellowship following the service and all are invited to visit and share "Dane Stories" with each other. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Robotics Program at Niceville High School.
