Shirley C. Fabozzi, of Niceville known to many as "Nana" or "Mom", passed away Monday morning, Feb. 22, 2010, at her home after a short illness.
Shirley was born Oct. 8, 1927 in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Niceville.
Shirley loved her family dearly. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley was happiest when cooking and knowing others enjoyed it till they had to refuse another bite. She eagerly took the time to teach her specialty dishes and secret ingredients. Shirley was a caregiver at heart, often taking in a teenager that needed a place to stay.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Pat Durski, husband Charles A. Fabozzi and great grandson Bradley Cole Fabozzi. She is survived by her sons, Bill (Janet), Wayne (Wendy), Frank (Susan); grandsons Charlie (Lisa) and Shane; granddaughters Karen Shoals (Brian), Melissa, Heather, Julie and Marie; great grandsons Jamie, Jake, Tyler, Caleb, Lonnie Wayne; great granddaughters Corrine, Jessica, Britney, Ashlynn and Harley; many special relatives and friends.
Nana had a way of making each of her grandkids feel as they were her favorite and would threaten to take out her "wet noodle" if they started to misbehave.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Twin Cities Cremation Services & Funeral Home 1405 John Sims Parkway E, Niceville, Florida. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church at 1200 Valparaiso Blvd. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, consider making donations to Sacred Heart of the Emerald Coast of Covenant Hospice.
